ASS-G Meeting Wrap

From Jonathan Cazenave:

Great meeting on Thursday! We were treated to Lee Johnson's latest film and music "Every Matter Under Heaven" an American Oratorio, and learned a good bit about Lee's process as well. The music and film were both awesome and we had a blast watching various scenes and asking Lee questions. The DVD is slated for release this month so keep an eye out for it. It is a must see/hear.

Also, Drew Silverstein shared the DVD and talked about the experience of his scoring session in Hollywood under the NATAS up and coming Film Composer program. He was one of 8 people chosen in the country and the scene he chose to re-score and conduct was from X-Men 3. Did i mention he 18 years old? Nice job Drew!

I will second Jonathan's comment that Lee Johnson's presentation was awesome! His music and symphonic film are beautiful and I can't wait to get the DVD. I was moved by Lee's music and inspired by his process--how he completed the work, built the film, and merged the two.

A great learning experience, and I'm glad we had such a great turnout! We must have had about 25 or more people in the room.

Also, Drew Silverstein's music/re-score to the X-Men scene was fantastic... highly professional! Very well done. Congrats to Drew for his current and future success.
